Our MBA and MSc Computer Science programmes are offered in part and full time study routes. MSc Engineering programmes are offered in part-time study route. Part-time study involves studying one module at a time, while full-time study involves studying two modules at a time..

Each postgraduate award has a minimum credit requirement that must be met in full. For the award of:
- Postgraduate Certificate, students require passes in 60 credits, with at least 40 at level 11
- Postgraduate Diploma, students require passes in 120 credits, with at least 100 at level 11
- Master’s Degree, students require passes in 180 credits, with at least 160 at level 11
While a Master's degree will help to open doors with employment and study, you'll need to check the specific entry requirements of the programme and institution you are interested in to find out if our programmes are acceptable for entry.
Yes, each programme contains a masters project or management investigation for the dissertation module.
Your degree certificate will not state you have studied online and will look the same as those of students who study on-campus. Your degree transcripts will however state that your modules were studied online.

Our online degree programmes allow you to split the cost of the programme by allowing you to pay per module. Payment for these is required no later than the Thursday before the programme start date, however, we would recommend completing payment at your earliest convenience to familiarise yourself with our online learning platform and Orientation Module. Please note the payment due dates can be subject to change.

The decision to maintain the current tuition fee level for new Scottish-domiciled students starting from September 2025 reflects the Scottish Government’s commitment to supporting access to postgraduate study for student’s resident in Scotland. It also aligns with university’s priorities and sector practice within Scotland, where it is common to differentiate between fee levels for Scottish, RUK, and international students.

Yes, your employer can pay for your studies. We call this a sponsor payment whereby the sponsor (your employer) will pay for the Masters Programme before the payment deadline.
Unfortunately, we do not offer scholarships for our online degree programmes. You can search online however, to see if other organisations offer postgraduate scholarships.

Our online degree programmes use Instructure Canvas as the Virtual Learning Environment. You can engage with this via a web browser or through the Canvas Student app.
You will have access to discussion boards within the Virtual Learning Environment, where you will be able to get in touch and interact with your peers and tutors.
You will need to complete approximately 37.5 (full-time) or 18.5 (part-time) hours of study per week to maintain progress throughout the programme.
There are two planned breaks built into the programme each year, these fall in December and August both last for 2-3 weeks.After you submit your final assessment in each module (by 12 noon UK time on Monday of week 8, you will have the remainder of that week off before the next module starts.
There will be a mixture of study methods, including but not limited to; independent reading, contribution to weekly discussion boards, videos, podcasts, formative and summative assessments, as well as some pre-recorded micro lecures.
You will be assessed based on a variety of assessment methods. This may include (but may not be limited to) written essays and reports, presentations, practical development tasks, business plans, online quizzes, and contribution to weekly tasks and contribution to online discussion boards.
Online programmes have 6 intake points each year. These course are 100% online with no in-person requirements.
Each module is reviewed after each intake, feedback from students is included in the review and any required updates are made.
You may wish to buy resources to support your learning. However, all core resources will be electronic, and you will have access to these via your student account. As well as the directed readings listed on Canvas, you can access online library resources via our academic search engine LibrarySearch.
All coursework and assessments are completed online, so you will not need to travel to undertake your studies.
No. These programmes are delivered as asynchronously. This means there are no live parts of the programme, so you can manage your studies around your other commitments.
